NOIDA: Having put the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor on track, the Delhi Metro on Thursday finalized the detailed project report (DPR) for a newly proposed Metro route. Stretching over 14.95 km, the track is likely to come at a cost of Rs 3,900 crore. Once in place, the new route will bring Noida and Noida Extension, now known as Greater Noida (west), closer to Delhi, besides enhancing connectivity. The track is likely to be operational in four years.
According to officials, with the DPR for the two proposed routes having been finalized, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) could be inked in the next six months. “We’ll first seek approval from the Authority, before seeking the state government’s nod. ” said Rama Raman, chairperson and CEO of all three GB Nagar development authorities.
