UNION CIVIL AVIATION Ministry has finally given nod to proposal of Uttar Pradesh government for making new international-airport at Jewar (UP) at side of India’s most prominent Yamuna Expressway connecting Delhi to Agra. Now project should be soon implemented by getting nod of Union Cabinet in a supersonic manner. Developing international-airport at Jewar (UP) will give foreigners visiting India easy connectivity both to capital-city New Delhi and prominent-most tourist-attraction Taj-city at Agra, apart from proper utilisation of Yamuna Expressway developed at huge cost which presently is grossly under-utilised.Already Greater Noida has become an attractive hub for foreign buyers with exhibitions held at Greater Noida round the year by Indian exporters. Setting up of international airport at Jewar (UP) will give a big boost to exports from India. Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi (Palam) has been over-crowded with planes compelled to wait for long before landing at peak hours. Also all roads including highways connecting Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi (Palam) are now over-crowded.In the meanwhile Uttar Pradesh government and Union Ministry for Highways and Road Transport should modify approach-roads from YAMUNA EXPRESSWAY TO AGRA CITY with bypass-connectivity to highways leading to other cities from Agra. Presently time saved in using Yamuna Expressway for travelling between Noida/Delhi and Agra is lost in massive traffic-jams at roads connecting Yamuna Expressway to Agra city and highways connecting Agra with other cities.
